It's less than 7 weeks to go until we say "Bye Bye Beeliar" so we we are on countdown with the kids crossing off each day on the calendar. We're having a going-away night on the 1st of June at a venue to be decided upon.
The preparations are well underway and in many cases complete. Passports and visas are sorted. Removal sorted. Leasing out Suntree Mews - almost sorted. Jack's transport - sorted. It's all very real at this stage, and very exciting.
Ethan was asked to use the word 'bittersweet' at school the other day and said "We're moving to America and even though its really exciting, I'm really going to miss my friends. It's very bittersweet." Yes, Boy Wonder, it is...

It's Official. We're Going!
So in late December it became official. Or about as official as it will get short of drinking champagne on the flight over...
Having had some idea that it was all going ahead, I had been looking at houses in the broader Newport area, and after a chance encounter at a cocktail party on USS NIMITZ in August, I had been given the hot tip that Jamestown was the place to go. A little investigation told us that it had the best schools in the area and after a one-liner to a real estate agent, we were given the first option on a spectacular house - which early this month - after a snappy inspection by the Bray family (thanks!) - we signed a lease on! The pictures are below and it comes furnished. Should be a great three years!
I think it's important to have an indoor pool, two spas, two kitchens, a wharf and a sauna. The pool table is obviously mandatory...
We move in on the 15th of June!
